Firstly, to debunk a common misbelief: universities do not interview parents when considering pupil admissions. Therefore, there is absolutely no pressure for parents to learn English. In terms of the more practical issues, parent-teaching meetings are now widely held online regardless of the parents' location, meaning the experience is the same for everyone, irrespective of your global location. School events and mixers for parents are put on on a fairly regular basis. Nevertheless, the majority of parents do not attend these, so do not feel you are doing a disservice to your child in not being able to take part. With this said, should you wish to contact fellow parents, almost everyone is friendly.
It is not uncommon for parents in a dorm or year group to set up whatsapp groups. These will be used for parents to ask questions, organize social events, etc.
